Senator Bill Heath

Senator Bill Heath was elected to the Georgia State Senate in 2005 after serving in the
House of Representatives. He serves as chairman of the Retirement Committee, vice-
chairman of the Science and Technology Committee, and a member of the Finance,
Agriculture and Consumer Affairs, Appropriations and Government Oversight
committees. In 2006, Governor Sonny Perdue recognized Sen. Heath’s ability as a
lawmaker by appointing him as Administration Floor Leader in the Senate. In 2007,
Gov. Perdue appointed Sen. Heath to the MARTOC Committee.
Sen. Heath graduated from Bremen High School and Southern Tech with a BEET degree. He is self-
employed as both an engineer and farmer with Design Specialists and B&S Farms. He served on the
West Georgia Regional Airport Authority for approximately 10 years, prior to being elected to the House.
Sen. Heath and his wife Susan have two children, William and Sandy. They attend Abilene Baptist
Church where Sen. Heath is a Deacon.
